What is worth $110?  Apparently 3 minute fudge.  Our church held a pie/dessert auction on Sunday night to help support our community food bank.  We raised $10,000 which is wonderful for all those families who are really struggling right now.  At the last minute I decided I would contribute something. What a set back.  I finally weighed this morning and I was up 1.4 lbs.  A few weeks ago I had started relaxing on how strict I was being towards my weight loss effort.  Relaxing lead to not paying attention which lead to stopping for a little bit and that lead to the 1.4 lb gain on the scale this morning; which sucks but I'm not surprised. My sister is submitting a little project she MADE this week.  She found some strecthy ribbon that already has some ruffle to it. She curled it up in the shaped a rose and added a button. I found this great storage/showoff frame by Maya*Made.  She has a great tutorial on how to make this box that keeps you child's artwork and displays the most recent masterpiece. Mix 3/4 cup shortening, 1 cup sugar, 2 eggs, and 1 tsp vanilla.  Blend in 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 tsp baking powder, and 1 tsp salt.  Cover and chill for at least 1 hour.  Heat oven to 375.  Roll dough to 1/8" thickness on lightly floured board.  Cut out your shapes.  Bake for 7-9 minutes.  Best before edges turn brown. Really good fresh out of the oven. Even better with a little icing. Icing: Mix

Time to show off something that you have MADE! This week I am showing off an old lamp that I had laying around.  The base was originally this awful color of green and it had a plain jane shade.  I decide it would work well in my daughter's room so I dressed it up  a bit.  With some help from a hot glue gun I added some sparkle to the shade. Then sprayed the base a lovely shade of pink.
